So I tried to restore the swing scene at ISU, and I failed....miserably. Things were great at the beginning of the year, but then the memberships just....faded away. I still have about 20 t-shirts leftover. Anybody want a shirt? I've been holding nominations for 2 weeks, and all my 'veteran' members say to me "I'll be President if nobody else will, but I don't want to teach, and I don't think I'll have the time." Nobody seems to care anymore.
It's not that there aren't swing dancers at ISU. There are plenty of swing dancers at student Christian groups, and quite a few swing fans at the modern dance group called "Orchesis 2" at Iowa State, but I guess they just don't like me.

(or something) So sad. But oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
I'm sorry to all of you Des Moines people that I haven't been able to visit much. I really wanted to visit you guys during you Thursday night and weekend gigs. But it never worked out for me.
Thanks to all of those who have supported the Cyclone Swing Society. I appreciate the chance to have met all of you and dance with you. I'm sure I would have benefited more had I been more involved, but the past is past.
My future swing plans will hopefully get me more involved in swing dancing in the Twin Cities. That should be a great time.
